Dr. Yael rothman

Dr. Rothman is a pediatric neuropsychologist who is licensed in New York, Connecticut, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. She specializes in comprehensive evaluations for children and adolescents with a wide range of conditions that impact learning, behavior, and/or social/emotional functioning. Dr. Rothman has been working as a pediatric neuropsychologist for over a decade both in private practice (at the Stixrud Group in Maryland) and in an academic medical center (at Children’s National Medical Center), where she was an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Rothman has presented at several national and international conferences, published over a dozen articles in peer-reviewed journals, and given many lectures to parents and schools. She also uses social media to share evidence-based information with the public through her shared Instagram account @neuropsychmoms. In addition, she is writing a series of children’s books to teach elementary-aged children about their diagnoses. Her first book, Different Thinkers: ADHD was published in January 2024. Her second book, Different Thinkers: Autism was published in March 2025.
